Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Established in 1958 with UNESCO and Soviet assistance, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a premier public research university in Powai, Mumbai. Known as an "Institute of National Importance", it spans 550 acres and enrolls over 12,000 students across 17 departments. The institute ranks globally as high as 129th in the QS World University Rankings, features in the global top 50 for Engineering and Technology, and consistently holds the 3rd overall spot in India's NIRF rankings.
